T by Alexander Wang Color Block Tank Top
This NYFW season, Alexander Wang just fêted ten years of street-style ready design, and if anyone knows how to do edgy cool-girl vibes it's the young designer, who in addition to his own house is also the creative director for Balenciaga. He's stepping down from that role within the year to focus on his own labels, which includes the diffusion line T By Alexander Wang. Style stars such as Miranda Kerr, Natalie Portman, and Kendall Jenner have all be spotted in his designs, and at NYFW, if you didn't snag an invite to his shows, and the famous after-party, did you really even go at all?
Well, I didn't...but I still channeled the designer's ferocity over at Harvard, where my T By Alexander Wang top and faux leather BCBG leggings contrasted with the classic colonial architecture of the University's campus.
This is my kind of top; it's got structure - it's made of a thick viscose blend - and the silhouette is all about strong shoulders. It's the right length, too. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about crop tops when the mood strikes, but I hate that middle-ground -- too short to tuck in or wear as a crop but too long as to almost infringe on tunic territory. As if! Like Goldilocks' quest for perfection, this tank isn't too short; it isn't too long; it's just right.
